Environmental Policy

Athens Metropolitan Expo SA is active in the organization of conferences and trade fairs. It is fully committed to operating with the utmost care for the protection of the environment.
In particular, it undertakes to:

Continuously improve the performance of the applicable Environmental Management System;
Fully comply with the Environmental Policy of Athens International Airport SA (AIASA) and fully adopt the environmental principles, guidelines and objectives of the AIASA Environmental Management System;
Implement the applicable legislation as well as the other requirements arising from its operating framework;
Monitor, evaluate and prevent any adverse effects of its operation on the environment;
Continuously improve its environmental performance by setting appropriate qualitative and quantitative objectives;
Constantly review its operating procedures to improve its environmental performance;
Develop policies to raise awareness and encourage staff to achieve environmental improvement;
Encourage its suppliers to minimize the impact of their activities;
Use practices of saving available natural resources;
Promote the reuse and recycling of materials, where possible, as well as the use of environmentally friendly products;
And communicate the environmental policy and its implementation to stakeholders, including staff, suppliers, exhibitors, visitors, and any external partners.

In order to meet the above commitments, Athens Metropolitan Expo SA applies an Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO Standard 14001:2015 in order to achieve continuous improvement in the management of energy resources as well as solid, liquid and hazardous waste; in air quality and noise management; in prevention and control of leakages-emergencies; in environmental awareness; in education and communication; and, finally, in the management of the natural environment, water resources and wildlife control and reduction, in order to achieve the objectives of the senior management for the sustainable development of the Company.
